Orbeton Stream Project scores in top third for Federal Forest Legacy Funding

February 16, 2011 By highpeaksalliance

A quick update on Forest Legacy 2012 funding for the Orbeton Stream Conservation Project in Madrid Township

The President’s budget is finally out and the most recent Forest Legacy Rankings show the Orbeton Stream Project ranked highly! Out of 73 total projects, 46 were recommended for federal funding in the President’s budget. The Orbeton Stream Project ranked 15th out of those projects. A top third ranking puts the Linkletter land in Madrid TWP in a great position to get federal funding. Thank you to everyone who has already written a letter of support. If you haven’t yet written one, they are now more important than ever! Congress still has to decide how much money will go towards funding these 46 projects, so now is the time to voice your support. If you would like to write a letter or have questions, please contact Ben Godsoe at [email protected] or 207-578-0306 and we will send you more information.
