The High Peaks region is at a turning point. More people are discovering it. More pressure is coming. The window to conserve what matters most doesn’t stay open forever.
For years, the High Peaks Alliance has worked quietly but persistently protecting land along Perham Stream, linking conservation corridors across Franklin County, and keeping trails open that might otherwise have been lost. We’ve accomplished this with a lean staff, a dedicated board, and loyal supporters who show up year after year.
But as we look ahead, we want to do more. To meet new challenges, we need a stronger foundation; a circle of supporters whose commitment we can count on every day.
The Everyday Stewards are that foundation.
What It Means to Be an Everyday Steward
As an Everyday Steward, you’ll be part of a core community of people who care deeply about access, land, and legacy in Maine’s High Peaks.
You’ll receive personal invitations to our Appreciation Gathering and other exclusive events, where you’ll hear directly from our team about the access projects your support makes possible.
Stay connected through monthly emails featuring trail updates, community stories, and upcoming volunteer opportunities. You’ll also receive our printed newsletters, including the fall edition and our year-end impact report, delivered right to your mailbox.
And when you’re ready to do even more, there are plenty of ways to get involved: join a trail workday, host a social, help plan an event, or bring a friend to a gathering. We’ll also share information about planned giving for those interested in crafting a lasting conservation legacy.
But honestly? The most important thing you’ll receive is the knowledge that your daily commitment is woven into everything we do. That’s not a small thing. That’s everything.
A Note on the Name
We didn’t call this the Major Donors Society or the Conservation Champions. We called it the Everyday Stewards because that’s who we’re looking for: people who may not see themselves as philanthropists, but who wake up caring about this place and want to do something real about it.
