Dr. Lage is past Chairman of the Board of Regents of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and former Director of the Harvard Center for Comparative  Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery.

He has been a Conservation Commissioner for 6 years and is involved with land preservation and conservation in Maine and Massachusetts.

As a clinical veterinarian, he is deeply committed to the preservation of wildlife habitat and respectful public access.
