A Competitive Process
The High Peaks Alliance has been awarded an $8,000 grant from the Quimby Family Foundation to support our general operations. This generous funding will significantly boost our efforts to keep the High Peaks Region wild and accessible for everyone.
The grant application process was highly competitive, with over 100 organizations vying for support. We’re incredibly honored that the Quimby Family Foundation recognized our commitment to supporting human wholeness, particularly in Maine’s historically underserved communities.

What This Means for Our Community
This grant will allow us to grow in several ways:
- Creating Regional Conservation Corps to maintain and improve regional trails
- Continuing the Scenic 7 Hiking Challenge, encouraging exploration of our region’s hidden gems
- Developing new outreach focused on land stewardship and promoting lesser-known recreational spots.
- Strengthening our partnerships with local organizations to improve outdoor infrastructure
Thank you, Quimby Family Foundation
Amanda Laliberte, our Director of Engagement, shared her excitement about the grant:”We’re thrilled and grateful for this support from the Quimby Family Foundation. Their generosity will help us create even more opportunities for our community members to connect with the incredible landscapes of the High Peaks Region. We believe that everyone should have the chance to experience the transformative power of nature, and this grant brings us one step closer to making that a reality.”
With this support, we’re more committed than ever to breaking down barriers to outdoor access and promoting activities that contribute to the overall well-being of our community. We can’t wait to share the results of this funding with you in the coming months.
