Building Community
We are grateful to Acorn Engineering, Inc., an engineering firm with offices in Kingfield and Portland, for generously donating critical professional engineering services in support of the Mosher Hill Falls project. Their involvement has been crucial in progressing the design of sustainable trails and addressing environmental concerns around this special area. Recognizing Acorn Engineering as a “Community Builder,” we appreciate how local businesses can play a key role in conservation and community enrichment.
Project Manager Nate Holt shared his connection: “Growing up in Franklin County, I remember going to the falls and being amazed with the spectacular views that really aren’t too far off the beaten path. We appreciate the opportunity to help High Peaks on this conservation initiative and hope our contribution helps preserve Maine’s natural beauty for future generations.”

Conserving a Community Gem
Mosher Hill Falls, a striking 45-foot waterfall, lies on over 200 acres just minutes from downtown Farmington. This property, with its dramatic gorge and meandering informal trails, has long been cherished by the local community. Our project’s goal is to ensure permanent public access while addressing sensitive environmental issues such as erosion and trail sustainability. Thanks to the expertise contributed by Acorn Engineering and the dedication of many stakeholders, we are implementing innovative trail design and restoration methods to protect this landscape and its recreational opportunities for years to come.
