February 18, 2025 – I had 39 goldfinches yesterday. I got 43 this morning. They’ve been here, but there haven’t been that many. They showed up yesterday to beat the band. 

There is a snow drift about 3 feet behind my car, and there’s about 2 feet on the ground. The wind is pushing everything around, so it’s hard to tell what’s out there. 

The other day I had a squirrel here that was hanging onto the pole that has the birdfeeder by his front feet and the rest of him was hanging right straight out the wind was blowing so hard. Other than that there hasn’t been anything for wildlife other than the birds. 

I went to get the feeders out, and I couldn’t get out the barn door. The wind kept blowing back in. I came around the house, and it almost took me out. I’m braving it enough to go out, get the mail, put the feeders out, and that’s it.
