Wildlife Watch
June 25, 2025 – Yesterday I got all the trails mowed. Took me 6 hours. I saw White Admiral butterflies, a Aphrodite fritillary, and an Meadow fritillary. I also saw a Brown Alphid and a Viceroy.
There were two Woodland Jumping mice as I came down from the cemetery through Fox Hollow. They jumped in the air, one cleared three feet.
We have the regular birds; Blackbirds, Grackles, Barn swallows, and the Kingfisher has been rattling to beat the band. I haven’t seen him but he’s near the sand pit. They’ve been nesting there since 1952.
