A Vital Connection | Eddy Pond Crossing | High Peaks Alliance

A Vital Connection

The Eddy Pond Crossing is an exciting addition to the High Peaks region, enhancing access for snowmobiles, ATVs, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. Located on the west slope of Saddleback Mountain, this crossing is part of the new West Saddleback Connector, which connects Phillips and Rangeley. It’s designed to provide safe and legal passage across the Appalachian Trail while preserving its natural beauty.

A Win-Win | Eddy Pond Crossing | High Peaks Alliance

A Win-Win

This project is a result of years of collaboration among various stakeholders, including the High Peaks Alliance, local trail clubs, and government agencies. The High Peaks Alliance played a key role in initiating this project and has been instrumental in facilitating discussions to ensure that all user groups are heard. We are thrilled to see our efforts come to fruition with this new connector.

The Eddy Pond Crossing not only improves recreational opportunities but also supports local tourism and businesses by enhancing trail connectivity. It’s a win-win for everyone involved! We invite you to explore the trails and enjoy the stunning scenery that this region has to offer.
