“One of the only rides in the North East that has the same feel as the High Cascades in Oregon”. Hope Strode and Dan Watts rode May 1st from Phillips to Salem, Kingfield, Carrabassett Valley, Stratton, Rangeley, Madrid and return. They encountered a strong headwind from Kingfield to Rangeley and hope to get their time down later this summer. In 2006 they bicycled from Oregon to Virginia in 43 dates with three days of rest.

Dan is a bicycle planning consultant who has worked for the City of Boston. Hope is a LEED Accredited architect in Cambridge with MaryAnn Thompson . The HPA is hopeful that we might get some assistance with backcountry mountain bike trail design.
