Avery Peak on Bigelow
Elevation: 4,090 feet Distance: 10 miles round-trip Location: Dead River Twp
The Bigelow Range is comprised of six peaks, with Avery and West Peak (#4) being the only two that surpass 4,000 feet in elevation. Avery Peak, standing at 4,090 feet, can be accessed by following the Stratton Brook Campsite, Fire Warden’s Trail, Horns Pond Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. Upon reaching the summit, you will be treated to breathtaking views of Maine’s expansive northern wilderness and the picturesque Flagstaff Lake below.
