Honored with 2026 Quimby Support
We’re thrilled to share some great news. The High Peaks Alliance has been selected to receive a 2026 Movement Grant from the Quimby Family Foundation. This $10,000 general operating grant will help us keep connecting people and communities with the natural landscapes of Maine’s High Peaks region. It supports inclusive outdoor experiences, community programming, and trail stewardship.
Quimby’s Movement Grants promote human wholeness across Maine. They build reciprocal relationships between people and the natural world. This year, the foundation awarded $710,000 total to nonprofits selected from 157 applicants statewide.
“Thanks to Quimby, we’re building momentum together,” said Brent West, Executive Director of High Peaks Alliance. “Their support helps us sustain outreach and programming that invite people of all ages to experience nearby nature through movement, discovery, and shared stewardship. Neighbors helping neighbors care for the places we love.”

Momentum Grows
Looking Back
Last year, we led or joined 45 community outreach events throughout the High Peaks region. These brought families, youth, seniors, and visitors outdoors together. Quimby’s support made projects like Bemis Track restoration, Mosher Hill Falls land protection, and our High Peaks Naturalist Series possible.
What’s Ahead
We’ll keep the momentum going with a full calendar of activities. Think snowshoe storytelling gatherings, monthly naturalist series, and volunteer conservation days. Each one promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being through real-time in nature.
