Mount Abraham, boasting the second-largest alpine zone in Maine, features a distinct bald summit that is easily visible on clear days. This mountain offers a gratifying adventure for experienced hikers, with the Fire Warden Trail serving as the traditional route to reach the highest peak along the ridge line. The ascent begins with a gradual climb, gradually becoming steeper for the final two miles. Along the way, hikers will traverse through lush forests and encounter river crossings. To reach the summit and the old fire tower, follow the trail marked by rock cairns for the final scramble.
