Saddleback Mountain
Elevation: 4,120 feet Distance: 4 miles round-trip Location: Sandy River Plantation
Reaching the summit of Saddleback Mountain is an exhilarating experience, offering awe-inspiring vistas of Rangeley Lakes, Saddleback Lake, and Winship and Conant Streams. During the summer months, the preferred route for most hikers is the Grey Ghost Trail, starting from the base lodge. Follow the trails of Wheeler Slope, Grey Ghost, and Tri Color as you ascend, eventually connecting to the Appalachian Trail. From there, enjoy a moderate hike to the expansive summit, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the lakes below.
